Description
Premium Aluminum, Sensible Price
The HP EliteBook 840 G5 gives you 90% of the G6 experience for significantly less money. Same premium aluminum unibody, same superb keyboard, same 14-inch Full HD display — with a 7th Gen Core i5 that’s still more than capable for professional work. Smart buyers know: last year’s flagship often beats this year’s mid-range.
7th Gen Is Still Plenty in 2026
For office productivity, web development, online teaching, and business multitasking, the i5 7th Gen doesn’t break a sweat. Paired with 8GB DDR4 RAM and a 256GB SSD on Windows 11, everyday performance is indistinguishable from newer chips — you’d only notice the difference in heavy video rendering or AAA gaming, which isn’t this machine’s job anyway.
The Value Play in Premium Laptops
Here’s the math: the G5 costs the same as a new plastic budget laptop, but gives you aluminum build, enterprise security, a better display, and a better keyboard. For professionals who care about the tools they touch 8 hours a day, it’s not even close.
